NOTES: I AM SUCH A SUCKER FOR THIS TROPE OH MY GOD. When one of the good guys steps in and DELIVERS THE 'YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS' SPEECH to the other more protagonistic GOOD GUY and then the NOW-INSPIRED PROTAGONIST GOOD GUY GOES OFF and DOES THE THING THEY ARE TRULY MEANT TO DO WITH THEIR LIVES in a way that usually involves lots of EXPLOSIONS and KICK-ASS MUSIC so that the GOOD GUYS come out VICTORIOUS AT THE END for the most part. It takes a certain type of film (re: one that doesn't take itself too seriously if we're being honest) to set itself up for the big DARE TO BE BADASS moment, and luckily for me we are in the age of ridiculously good-looking heroes and CGI explosions and giant robot battles and everything I could ever want really.
P.S.: This could have been eight solid tracks of I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan
