if you use hotmail, you should read this article.

basically, if you used a now lapsed hotmail address to set up your journal or community, other people can acquire that email address, because hotmail allows the recycling of email addresses. with that email, they can reset your password and gain control of your lj account.

sometimes what they would do is just delete everything. that might not seem so bad for just a few months' worth of entries, but some people have been on lj for years and have 1000's of entries, plus all the comments.

hotmail sucks anyway, i use gmail, bc i can use my normal email program with it.
