there were definitely not as many people there as i anticipated, which was great, but we still had a good time. greg is a MOST hilarious drunk and we even bonded a little because being drunk, i was not intimidated by his unfathomable beauty. anyway. liv got really, really drunk and was quite close to puking but we kept her outside by the fire and silky wilkinson, the good man that he is, kept her stable and made sure she had an ample supply of water. Pat and Blair hooked up in the kitchen right next to where mike and i were having a cox/rower heart to heart, which was adorable. he was really encouraging and really helpful and told me he thinks i can definitely pull off being a varsity cox by next year or so. seriously, he was so helpful and we went over a lot of things that i'd been worrying about, and he seemed really invested in how i'm developing as a coxswain and told me that the first time he saw me erging on my own in the gym he was really impressed that i would erg on my own and stuff. mike gave me a big ol' hug and said he thinks i'll be a really good cox and then laura walked by and chimed in and said i definitely would because she and shannon have taken a special interest in me. and all of this was so reassuring to hear because i was psyching myself out and thinking "oh they all like blair liv and holly way better than me. but i'm trying so hard." but i'm glad that's not the case because i am almost retardedly invested in becoming a good coxswain. i've like, never been more devoted to a sport than i am to rowing. but anyway. so that was probably the highlight of my night, and laura said she wanted to set me up with her brother who i guess is really, really sweet and adorable so. good. all in all it was a good party because we've spent so much more time with the v guys since the last party so i'm considerably less intimidated by them. they're all so sweet. but the party came to a screeching halt when margo, the novice coxswain from last year who quit, drank WAY too much (i didn't see her doing anything but drinking and sitting alone all night) and the last time i saw her she was being carried wedding-style by dan north (aww) out the door, then shannon came out and said basically, if we were under 21 and drunk we needed to leave because they were going to call an ambulance and cops because margo was like, life-threateningly drunk. so silky, holly, liv, mini megs and i started walking back to campus, about 2 or 3 miles in the cold, drunk (i wasn't really, i had only had 3 drinks in the span of 4 hours). then liv stayed at my place and, thankfully, did not puke.
right now i'm waiting for my dad to pick me up so i can go home. i want to visit all my friends who are home but i dont have a car there. baaallls.
