I need to pack up my entire room by one week from today. I have a lot of junk (that is not junk).

What is your method of packing? do you start at one end and just move toward the door or small stuff first? or what? HELP I need to get this done and its too daunting so instead I'm LJing

(xposted in AMA so most of you will see this twice. sorry.)

So I make a list of all the important categories of stuff I have. Then I separate all of those items for each list into their own separate piles. This way, you can see all of the objects, and you can get a better sense of how they will all need to fit into their respective boxes. It seems tedious, but it actually makes the process a whole lot less stressful. If you can get them, vaccum seal storage bags are the bomb. you can essentially double your space for clothes. I use plain old grocery bags too. When I was moving, I doubled up on a lot of stuff...like i used sheets and pillowcases to wrap up breakables, and packed posters and pictures with books to keep them flat.

good luck!
