OOC: Verse Guide

Feb 17, 2009 18:30

Because I'm rapidly collecting them, I thought a verse guide might be helpful.

Open Verses
Canonverse: Exactly what it says on the tin. Sticks more or less to canon, filling in the gaps and fleshing out various moments in the show. Mostly writing, though I'm more than open to a canonverse RP with any of his companions/friends/enemies/what have you. Like I said, it's all about filling in the gaps, and there are plenty of those to play in. I'm even up for non-canon adventures in the spaces between episodes, anywhere and anywhen in the universe, with both fandom and original characters.

Daemonverse: More or less canon, but with daemons in. The Doctor's daemon is a dingo named Loreana. She's a witch daemon (which comes in handy with a life like his), and changes shapes with each regeneration, so the dingo's a recent thing. Open for RP with anyone, Whocanon, crossfandom or original, though he's going to look funny at them if they don't have a daemon.

Game-Specific Verses
None at the moment.

Closed/Inactive Verses
And If I Miss You: Post-S4 AU. Mostly a fic verse, with occasional input from withpockets. The Doctor dropped by Cardiff (not entirely willingly) post-S4, and spent some time with Torchwood while he got the TARDIS fixed. Soon after leaving them, Donna called - because he sort of overlooked the fact that Donna's phone still had the TARDIS number on it. She started to remember, he called up Torchwood to freeze her until he could find a better solution... and that's exactly what he's doing now. Sooner or later he's got to find a way to fix it that doesn't involve wiping her memories... right?

Beyond the Rift: Post-"Voyage of the Damned", pre-S4. The Doctor fell through a Rift in space and time, without his TARDIS, and landed in Chicago, 2008. The trip through the Rift altered him, as it does everyone who falls through, and he now has the ability to mirror anyone else's magical or psychic abilities, usually only with physical contact. Since coming through, he has gained a very complicated relationship with Martha Jones (smithnjones) and Desmond Descant (nowherexboy), and a house he won't admit is his. Oh, and a fair number of enemies, but that's par for the course for him.
Being trapped in one place for so long (more or less, despite the occasional trips to Rome or Oklahoma... don't ask) has had its effect on him. He's not as able to run from his problems, more possessive and protective of his friends (unsurprising, as they keep getting targeted to hurt him), and more willing to hurt or kill those who present themselves as threats, if it means keeping those he cares about safe.
