Aaaaaaaand we're back!
Yes I am back home -- sharing living quarters with Laurie, eating like a pig, and consulting to start building up the bank account again. My life in a nutshell. :) Perhaps at some other time I will expand on that, but everything else is trivial (i.e. "it's all small stuff". :) )

Glad to see you are getting back to a new (and exciting project). We miss you a lot over here in Amsterdam. Wish I could afford one of these new fangled laptops, but alas not right now. I have something for you, so send me an address some time.

I miss Amsterdam too -- I'm sorry I couldn't make it back for your graduation but consulting hadn't kicked in yet and money was a bit touch-and-go for a while. Congratulations, anyway, you MSc you. :)
As for OLPC, you can emulate it (the image is free -- http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Emulating_the_XO) in QEMU or VMware if you just want to play around with it, and anyway I expect AST will have one or two around he'd be willing to loan you for hardware. (If, contrary to reason, he's having problems getting his hands on one, I'd be happy to order one for him -- let me know. It seems the G1G1 offer has been extended until the end of the year so there is now plenty of time.)
