Yep I passed the motorcycle course. You've got a few days to feel safe, as I don't yet own a motorcycle. Figure I'll go look and see if I can find a blue light special, good enough shape to be worry free, and low enough expense to reduce the concern about the bike getting hurt when I down it (as I've accepted as a new rider), and only be concerned ( Read more... )

It was the Basic Rider Course, thru Continuing Education program of NoVa Community College. 2 day all-encompassing (basic skills training and then testing), provided me the certificate of completion that I'll take to DMV in the next 30 days to have them re-issue me a drivers license with the Class M designation.

I do have to fess up and say that this was my 2nd time taking the course. The first time, I'd gone thru the 2 days, and at end after passing the written, failed my practical riding test. I took the second of the double u-turns to sharply, lost balance and dropped the bike which is an auto-fail (during the test); do not proceed with further testing, do not collect Class M designation. I had to stand the bike up and walk it out to the staging space. Instructor told me what I did wrong, said I'd looked down and as he said a number of times, motorcycles go where your looking, so I and the bike went down.

It was sweet to have aced the practical riding test this time. :-)

Get one with scratches on it already, and you wont' worry about the ones you'll put on it yourself.
Congratulations - I went through the same course (many moons ago) and regret not getting the "M" class added to my license ever since.

Your announcement has been noted.
In the future, when in your neighborhood, I shall avoid the sidewalks.
