Thanks to dawntreader90's reminder yesterday, I got up especially to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade this morning. And I would like to fire the director for crimes against television production

CBS has coverage too. theirs is further up the parade line so you can get a "preview" of what's coming down the line during commercials. NBC has about an hour of dancing and broadway stuff though in front of Macy's before the parade actually hits where they cover from.
CBS also has cutaways to other locations in NY where they have their own broadway stuff. but that is totally not the same caliber coverage IMHO.
anyway, their main on-site emcee was Neil Patrick Harris, and i think Hannah Storm and David something or other... the morning show weather guy were the co-hosts.
also, re: costumes, it's better than some years when the baton twirler girls from Alabama or some southern state are wearing little more than sequinned bathing suits and it's 20 degrees and snowing outside. the 63 degrees was QUITE unusual so the costumes didn't bother me a bit.

but at least i got to see the snoopy balloon. and Hello Kitty. but yes, i did notice the crappy camera work on the NBC coverage. :P
also? the Xanadu singer/lip syncer was really really nasally. yuck! i'd hate having to hear her perform a whole show.
i liked a lot of the rest of it though! my favourite float was the M&M float with the green Wicked witch. :)

My favorite float was the New York one with Michael Feinstein and Anika Noni Rose singing.
