Because Jesus God, it's beautiful, and Germaine Cellier is rapidly becoming one of my favorite human beings in the history of ever.
There is so much going on in this -- a very perfumey undercarriage (which is a descriptor, not an insult; structured and pulled-together and classical; would this be classed as a chypre?) with the most amazing growing green bursting out all through it. You can more or less feel the wet leaves.
It's a setting, not a character, and it's a setting that looks a lot like this -- in a very quiet, beautiful way, it's post-apocalyptic. It's breathtaking.
Surrender to Chance will sell you 8ml of this for $47.88. If it lasts on me... I'm considering it. I could probably get a book out of it.
