Similarities between Pi and Anathem

After watching Pi again last night, the movie took on a new meaning for me. Originally I interpreted it as a modern Icarus story, but after reading Anathem by Neal Stephenson, I realized that it's a bit more complex than that. What was the first DVD you ever purchased? Do you still have it? When was the last time you watched it, and what do you think of the movie now?

Mine was Pi and I haven't watched it for years. I'm going to watch it again now. It's still one of my favourite movies.

I've tried to watch Dollhouse and had suspended my dissatisfaction with it over the past month, hoping that it would get better and something interesting would emerge. I got a 25% off coupon in my e-mail for one item at a Chapters store, to "treat myself and my sweet love to savings." I went there after work today and bought Plague of Spells by Bruce Cordell, a Wizards of the Coast Forgotten Realms fantasy novel. Help Protect the Polar Bears

Coke's new campaign to save the polar bears is pretty funny. I laugh when I saw it (in spite of myself) because it looks just like one of the old Adbusters/Greenpeace campaigns to get Coke to stop using hydrofluorocarbon-based refrigeration.
