This may be suffering from canonocity fail. I haven't rewatched this arc recently, nor have I written much K/L (yet).

"So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about?"

Adama eased himself onto the couch next to her and handed her a drink. "Can't we just talk? I miss how we used to just do that."

"Of course." She sipped her drink slowly, hoping he would speak first.

"It's been a while since I went over to Pegasus. How are things over there ( ... )

I really like when other people talk about Lee and/or Kara. The third person point of view really appeals to me. When said person is Adama, it's even better. The fact that Kara and Lee are together was really a surprise, but a nice one. Well done!
I'm just not sure whether him being in the reserves would be so important. First because we don't really know a lot about it. Aside from the caption on the interview, when was there ever a mention of this? Besides, even if that was the case, would it really be relevant after the attacks? I mean, everybody was active then, right?

As for the reserve thing, I like playing with and expanding little bits of canon. I thought maybe it might be interesting to explore. :)

Aww so very sweet! I love Kara/Adama moments and I love that he would come to her to get info about his son. It's a warm family-homey kind of convo.

I *loved* this! I think the detail you included about the way they sipped thier drinks set the pace of the conversation so nicely...and made the facial expressions so easy to conjure :D

Other than that I agree: I was caught off guard by their relationship and loved that she was afraid he'd mention it... I adored the XO comment, too! All of it, just lovely!

I loved the part about Lee acting like he is still the CAG. I could see Lee telling Kara what she should be doing and her getting fed up at him. I also loved how you had a non-angst fic. There are too few of those around this fandom!

I wasn't expecting this bit. Sweet surprise! I like that Bill wants to see how Lee is doing when he is not being watching by his father and Admiral.
