"I wish you'd said it'd be alright to wear jeans to this," Ron said, once he'd surveyed the crowd and realized he was overdressed. Of course, it could be worse, he could be stuck in dress robes that smelled like his great aunt Tessie, but he still felt bloody weird in a suit.

Hermione, though... she looked bloody amazing. Since they'd gotten there, Ron'd had to try his best not to stare, really.

But while he was proud of Hermione, of course, he couldn't help but dread all the extra work that this would likely put on her. She was already taking loads of classes, studying almost as much as she had at Hogwarts. It was something he'd push out of his mind for the night, instead focusing on celebrating what she'd done.

Having jumped a little upon realizing that Ron was at her side, Hermione turned to him with a brilliant smile nonetheless, spread from cheek to cheek and slightly shaky with her nerves. The more time she'd spent mingling with the islanders, strangely, the more nervous she felt, wondering how she would even begin to look after the welfare of so many people that she hardly knew. The familiar face that Ron provided was welcome in contrast, and Hermione quickly offered the group she'd been speaking to a smile and a murmured excuse, before turning around and wrapping her arms around Ron, pressing her face to his chest and inhaling deeply.

"Really, Ron, wearing a suit for an evening isn't going to hurt," she replied, looking up to meet his gaze, brushing an errant curl of hair out of the way. "I think you look especially handsome tonight." As though to impress her point, Hermione leaned in to press a brief peck against his lips, glad that dressing up had given her heels to even out some of their difference in height.
