Penny let out an aggravated sigh as she let her book fall into her lap, then stared up at the now very familiar ceiling. It had been a week since she'd been released from the clinic, but the only real difference had been that instead of lying in bed there, she'd been lying in one in her new room. She found it was an unwelcome change from the hurried pace of her normal life, one of the many she'd been experiencing lately. Not only that, but sitting around meant she spent a lot of time thinking about Billy, Hammer and the events that had lead up to her arriving here, along with a number of other things she would have preferred to ignore.
Today would be the day, she decided, to actually do something. She stood and pulled on a dress she'd found, moving gingerly and taking care not to let the stitched skin of her abdomen pull much. Once she had dressed, she left her room and headed outdoors, settling on a bench not far from the door. It was a nice day, so shut her eyes and sighed, soaking up the sun and warmth until she sensed someone nearby. Opening her eyes, she squinted from the sunlight as she gave them a small smile and nod as they passed.
