Sam was flying. Okay, technically he was floating, hovering at best, but it was still awesome. He'd awoken to find himself floating above his bed, then when he freaked out at realizing that had happened, he crashed through it.

It had taken him a good few hours to figure out just what the hell was going on. Apparently people had powers. Or something, some of what he'd heard about didn't sound all that great. His personal ability, density manipulation or whatever the hell it was, was pretty sweet. Sure, it was kind of really hard to control and he was still working at it, but he was getting the hang of it.

Right now, he was trying to fly. Since he really didn't have a way to propel himself though, all he could do was make himself float up. Still, a bird's eye view of everything was cool. Lighter than air, he floated up higher and higher and unlike Icarus, he didn't have wings that could melt.

He did, however, apparently still have a small bit of mass that could be moved by a breeze. It was with a panic that Sam realized that before too long, he was going to be blown away from the island.

"Oh shit," Sam muttered. "Shit, shit, shit. Okay, all I need to do is just, you know, adjust things so that I don't blow away easier. No problem. I got this."

Focusing on... well, whatever it was in his body that allowed him to change his mass, Sam tried to make himself heavier. Nothing happened. This was suddenly a lot less cooler than it was a moment ago. Closing his eyes, Sam tried to feel heavier. He imagined himself as an Autobot, a giant robot weighing several tons. Feeling the wind blow past him, he grinned and opened his eyes. It was working! He was... falling really fucking fast.

Sam barely had time to register that this was NOT good before he realized his only hope to not becoming a pancake would be to make himself so dense he wouldn't get hurt. Curling up into a ball, Sam tried to imagine himself a meteoroid falling to the island. A really, really dense meteoroid that was not going to get squashed flat.

As the ground rushed toward him he shut his eyes tight again.

"No, no, no, noooAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

With a loud "WHUMP" Sam slammed into the ground, sending out a small shock-wave of dirt and plants from his impact point. Coughing through a haze of dust, at the center of the small crater, Sam lifted his head to see if he was still alive and then slumped back.

[ooc: Sam crashed in the jungle not too far north of where the Compound is. He's mostly fine, other than his clothes being in tatters and feeling pretty stupid. SL/LT always welcome, good time to meet him.]
