Grace simply adores Grease.

She's been waiting for an opportunity to wish Kurt a happy birthday, but instead Grace finds him on stage, which is as it should be, really. She doesn't expect him to point at her with a microphone and beckon her to the stage, but she wouldn't dream of declining, even if she's not the world's best singer, especially compared to Kurt.

Grace takes the proffered microphone, hopping up on stage with a grin before she joins in.

"You better shape up, 'cause I need a man, and my heart is set on you," she sings, even though she feels a bit silly for a moment, "You better shape up; you better understand to my heart I must be true."

"You've got to catch it on a good day," Grace replies, because there have been many days when she's only been able to come away with the worst of books, when the bookshelf was intent on only giving her copies of Twelfth Night instead of films or anything else.

She nearly comments on his comment about Josh Groban- she remembers that episode of Glee well enough- but is thankfully able to restrain herself from doing so. Grace will admit that there's a part of her that feels somewhat guilty whenever Kurt mentions his life back home and she has to pretend that she doesn't know what he's talking about, but this is preferable to the alternative, she thinks. She'd never want Kurt to feel uncomfortable. It's not his fault that he's a character in a television show, after all.

"Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter says that she has luck if she talks to it, sometimes."

"Yeah, but... Luna Lovegood is also Luna Lovegood," Kurt replies in turn with a skeptical look. It isn't that he isn't fond of all of the Harry Potter characters for what they have to offer to the whole, but when it comes to which ones he'd trust to offer sound advice, Luna ranks fairly low among the set. (Then again, he thinks to himself, he'd probably sooner turn to Luna than he would to some of the other members of Dumbledore's Army. As much of a fan as he is of the actors, there simply isn't enough that's detailed about one Ginny Weasley for him to know what she's like outside of the mind of a smitten teenager.)

"I'd sooner, say, ask Hermione Granger what she thinks of that. Although I suppose an argument is easily made for the fact that said shelf is manipulated by someone sentient and clearly aware of what they're doing, in which case talking to the thing isn't too outlandish of a suggestion," he goes on, then shrugs. "Either way, I figure if it refuses to cough up musicals, sooner or later, someone will come around and decide ( ... )

"Oh, totally," she agrees, and though her talents are more skewed towards non-musical theater, there's no doubt that she'd jump at the chance to act again.

Despite her happiness at the idea of someone putting together musical theater for the island, she can't help but frown at his statement about Luna. Perhaps she's not the most popular of characters, but Grace has always loved her in the books. Kurt's skepticism reminds her of exactly how the characters in the books viewed Luna, and that never got any of them anywhere at all.

"But I don't think there's anything wrong with Luna. She was nice enough to me, and she's one of the only people I've met able to get the bookshelf to cooperate on command."

"Oh, no, believe me, I have absolutely nothing against Luna. At all. I think that she's a terrific character, just... with a lot of beliefs and values that I know I'd automatically zone on devil's advocate for, were I ever to meet her. Not that I'd be so bold as to say I'm anything like Hermione, but when it comes to needing concrete facts and evidence to back everything up, and even, you know, risk assessment in making decisions..." Kurt tilts his head, hoping that Grace gets the point. "Luna just isn't someone who thinks in the way that I do. Which is completely fine, obviously. But for me, it's like, I can't even believe in any god or pantheon or something of that sort, both because there's nothing to prove it, and because, well. I'd rather believe in a lack thereof than think that God would be so selectively cruel at times."

He huffs a little exhale after the explanation, his expression slightly tense at the thought of it again. If God exists, well.

Kurt would like to have a few words with Him.
