Game 36, Round 4 Lines

Apr 07, 2010 20:27

Here are the lines for Round Four...

1. In the early morning air, the horses' breath steamed as they drew the coach along the rutted road.
2. The arrival of the Marquis of Alverstoke was seen as a true sign that a society event had truly begun, although in truth it was rare that he appeared more than an hour before any event was due to conclude.
3. Most of the ladies of the ton found the Marquis of Alverstoke as enchanting and mysterious as he was hard to fathom, but Lady Buxted, his sister, was disposed to find him quite irksome indeed.
4. Not more than five days after she had despatched an urgent missive to her brother, the Most Honourable the Marquis of Alverstoke, requesting him to visit her at his earliest convenience, the widowed Lady Buxted was relieved to learn from her youngest daughter that Uncle Vernon had just driven up to the house, wearing a coat with dozens of capes, and looking as fine as fivepence.
5. "My dear Alverstoke," Mrs Dauntry extended a beringed hand and smiled ingratiatingly, "how very kind of you to spare me these few moments."
6. By the time of his thirtieth birthday the Marquis of Alverstoke had developed a talent for inactivity to the masterful level.
