May 15, 2010 21:13

We have lines:

1: For a long time, I knew not where my sister was.

2: Looking around me at the comfort and opulence of this hotel, with the hiss and scream of New York streets many stories below, the poverty of my childhood seems no more than a fairy tale.

3: One evening in the spring of 1936, when I was a boy of fourteen, my father took me to a dance performance in Kyoto.

4: There are no more Geisha, anymore.

5: In the West they have a saying: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But only one is the true first line.
