Game 5, Book 5 Voting
Here are the first lines for Interview with a Vampire:
1. The boy tried to calm his nerves as his eyes adjusted to the dark of the seedy room in San Francisco's Tenderloin district.
2. "I have sinned."
3. The vampire sat with his back to the window.
4. In New Orleans, there are no graveyards.
5. "I see..." said the vampire thoughtfully, and slowly he walked across the room towards the window.
6. When the redcoats left the estate, the Armee du Roi was still two hours off, and fire and blood had taken their effect long before it arrived.
7. He didn't look anything like what I had imagined.
8. I could see the boy's reflection in the window, his eyes eager and fearless, his pen poised to capture a story he did not truly believe.
9. The street was still wet with rain and faint tendrils of steam rose from its surface.
