Comment: I so want to vote for the fourth one
jeffr23 -- Even in the bustling common-room, the two strangers could not help but attract attention, her with her long, flowing golden hair and strange barbarian garb and him wearing scarcely anything at all on his powerful, muscled frame.

And now, in a change to the schedule, the lines for Book 3, Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere:

  1. He noticed the blood first, tiny droplets leading him toward the huddled shape on the pavement.
  2. He usually ignored beggers.
  3. "Make sure you're home on time, Richard," said Victoria wearily.
  4. No need to take the Tube home, it was a lovely evening.
  5. "Of course I've confirmed the restaurant, darling", Richard lied.
  6. Richard looked up from the files on his desk and out at the London skyline.
  7. Richard Mayhew couldn't understand why nobody else seemed to see the girl.
  8. Richard Mayhew shared with most Londoners the sixth sense which enabled him to avoid striking obstacles on even the most crowded of sidewalks.
  9. Richard Mayhew was not having a very good day.
  10. She had been running for four days now, a harum-scarum tumbling flight through passages and tunnels.
  11. The day my life changed should have been a day like any other - except it wasn't.
  12. There are silent places beneath London, and not-so-silent.

The book for round 4 will be A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson, better known as a travel writer. It's a tour around the history of science, bringing out the things that make it astounding and trying to reset the balance of a million lousy science teachers (this isn't the blurb - I really love this book and would recommend it to anyone).

Bill Bryson describes himself as a reluctant traveller, but even when he stays safely at home he can't contain his curiosity about the world around him. A Short History of Neary Everything is his quest to understand everything that has happened from the Big Bang to the rise of civilization - how we got from there, being nothing at all, to here, being us. The ultimate eye-opening journey through time and space, revealing the world in a way most of us have never seen it before.

You're looking for the first line of Section I ("Lost In The Cosmos"), Chapter 1 ("How To Build A Universe")
