Sephiroth was jolted awake by a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"General?" Whoever it was, they looked concerned. For him? That was odd.
"Where--?" He looked around. Oh. Right. The inside of the sleek private jet Shinra kept for its Generals. His assistant standing over him with a clipboard in hand. They were taxiing away from the Midgar terminal, he

Julia, Sephiroth's efficient yet incorrigible assistant, asks again, tilting her head to the side as she regards her boss. Despite what he says, it's quite obvious to her that something's bothering him and of course, as his assistant, it's her job to make sure that he's in tip top shape for the meetings he has to attend soon. Sephiroth usually looks calm, centered, alert. Right now, he looks disoriented and that's rare and strange for him.
Julia Beilschmidt, formerly of the Peacekeeping Troops. She has no idea how she came to become the SOLDIER's assistant (maybe they thought she needed more discipline or less attitude, hah), but she supposes it could be worse. She could be stuck cleaning the toilets (with a toothbrush) back in HQ. Have you seen HQ? Can you imagine how many toilets there are in that place?
Yeah. It could definitely be worse.

He loosened his tie a little. Now that there would be nothing but the walls of the plane for a number of hours he could afford it.

"Would you like me to get you something to drink or eat?"

The war was, technically, still going after all. Wutai hadn't surrendered, merely opened up negotiations. It'd likely be a few months yet.
Looking up at Julia he nodded curtly, trying to pull himself back together. "Tea would be...adequate. Thank you, Julia." As annoying as he'd found her at first, he couldn't deny that his assistant actually got things done. More than he could say for his past assistance, two of which he'd thrown out windows.

She nods back to him at his request, resisting the urge to give him a salute. "Be right back, boss." And with a bit of a cheeky grin, goes off to get the boss' tea done just the way he likes it. It only took her about two weeks to get it right.

He glanced at it, meaning only to distract himself, and after a quick glance at the front page scowled and dumped the paper in the little waste bin tucked beneath the table. Trash. He disliked seeing his face on the cover page every week and the propaganda filtered bullshit within it.
Only now he had nothing else to focus on but his near slip up. He lowered his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. Gaia, that dream had disturbed him more than usual. Where was his famed control?

Julia can't help but be worried for her boss, really. Sure, he's just part of the job and a working relationship, especially within their line of work, probably works best without any emotions involved. But it can't really be avoided can it? She's been working for the SOLDIER for a while now and well, she's come to care for him a little. She's been exposed to some of the things that he has to do and she really has to say, her boss is exposed to some majorly stressful things. She really does hope he's able to cope.
Eventually, she comes back to the cabin, bit of a grin still on her face and with a perfectly brewed cup of tea.
"Your tea, boss."

Julia makes her way to the seat across from him and sits down carefully, her back not touching the back of the chair. "Am I in trouble?" She dares to ask just as her gaze flicks down to the newspaper that somehow has found itself in the trash bin. Crap. She knew she shouldn't have left that newspaper lying around...

A hand reaches up to absently touch at the scar on her right cheek. It's a habit that she unknowingly does when she's a bit uncomfortable or lost. She's never been good with idle talk with people she's not close to, which is strange considering how she usually seems to like the sound of her own voice.
"..."
Well, this isn't awkward. No, not at all.

Added to the fact that that little habit of her had...featured in a few dreams and it was only now that he'd connected it to her. Shiva's tits what he hell was he doing?
"Do you like working for me, Julia?" He didn't know where this was going. Only that there was a lingering...urge and it was slowly taking over.

Escaping toilet duties aside, she really does like working for him. He's fair and simple, once you wrap your head around the fact that he wants things done a certain way. He's never mistreated her, though she's heard horror stories of course (No one ever knew what happened to those two assistants he threw out of windows...). And well, him being handsome is of course an added bonus. What woman wouldn't want to work for such an attractive man? Not that she'd say that to his face, of course.

He looked up at Julia. He supposed the only way to attack this was logically, as he did with everything else. "I'm attracted to you," he said blandly, without any emotional infliction whatsoever. There.

Instead, she stares at him a bit owlishly, violet eyes wide, lips kind of slack. She's never expected this to ever happen. She still can't believe it and she's still waiting for her boss to tell her that it's all a joke. He's just bored and needed some in-flight entertainment. Then she could roll her eyes at him and make some dry, witty remark. Use her as entertainment... Really?
But Sephiroth hardly ever jokes around, does he? And it's not really his way to make fun of people like that and so, this actually must be serious. And how does one react to being told by the Sephiroth that he's attracted to them? Not the usual way Julia reacts to confessions like this, that's for sure, which was with absolute narcissism ("But of course you'd be attracted to me ( ... )

He looked down the isle of the plane. They were alone but for the pilot now, and they were in the cockpit. Fixing his eyes on her, he hummed lightly. "Well," he began, pondering, "firstly, are you attracted to me?"
Sephiroth had been many things in war, namely whatever Shinra needed him to be, but outside of the theatre of war, and in the company of an ally, a technical civilian, he had no desire to become a rapist, or a pervert.
