It was all so clear. Despite everything around her being dark, blending into the night, the scene before her was vivid, almost as if surrounded by an unearthly glow to highlight it in the blackness. Yes it was right in front of her, and yet she could do nothing but stare; the scream of panic, a body falling to the floor, the glint of a blade as it ( Read more... )

Well, she wasn't the only one that was out in the halls at the moment. A young woman with pink hair suddenly made the wheelchair she was riding in stop once she reached said hallway, but it wasn't the sight of the other girl leaning against the wall that caught her attention; it was... more of the emotions she felt from her that make her eyes soften with worry. She felt... fear, sorrow, painful memories... and it gave her skin a bit of a chill.

Those were generally intense emotions, and for one that had blessed them to the world, it was natural that the sprite make her way over to see if she could offer some way to help ease things, if only for a while; the hotel returned her to looking quite expectant, so she didn't want to be away from her own room for too long. Oh well, the elevator down that other hall would still have to wait some time for her to take a ride.

"E-excuse me..." After bringing herself closer, the emotions were much stronger; despite this, Mesprit spoke softly so as not to scare her away. "Do you need some help?"

"Sometimes..." She admitted. It was still hard for some of the more powerful emotions to not get to her though, but she managed it somehow ( ... )

The princess was feeling all the worse, knowing that there was nothing she could do. After all, Mesprit would still sense her emotions even if she didn't vent them. If she could have curbed her sadness, she would have, if only to ease the strain on her companion ( ... )

"It's just something I can't do anything about, that's all. You don't have to feel sorry for me." She wasn't looking for any sympathy; that past mistake still hurt, but not so much while she could still see others using their emotions. That was enough to help her. "I feel more sorry for you, not being able to show your sadness more often..."

She shook her head. "No, it's not you at all. I... I guess it's just... sad altogether... the whole situation, I mean." Her tears were just a trickle now, but the comforter was suddenly becoming the comfortee. "I've never lost anyone in my family before... at least not that I know of, so I have no idea how terrible it feels... but I'm sure that things in your life would have been much different if it never happened at all." That was something to think about, as she knew things happen for a reason, including the bad events.

"So is my problem, but it helps to know someone understands." she replied, wishing to at least show some level of support. Any help, however small or apparently insignificant was better than nothing after all surely.

Nodding, Amelia gave her arm a light squeeze of reassurance. She bit her lip at the thought of how things might have changed. She definitely would have been different with her mothers influence still around, but even so, it was hard to imagine that big of a change in herself, even if it was evident. "That much I know. For one thing, my sister might not have run, barely keeping in touch." she sighed, shaking her head so as not to dwell too much. "Still, I guess these things are supposed to happen for a reason, to make you into who you're supposed to be hmm?" she shrugged lightly, trying to offer a small smile.

"I know that there are a lot of things that happen to us that we can't change... but I guess it's all a part of living." Her voice sounded wise, as if she were much older despite appearing young; of course, it was very true as well as hard to believe.

"Seems like it." She finally was able to smile back, glad to see that they both weren't too sad. "I know that I might have been different if something about my past was changed... but I like how I turned out, regardless of my past or how I am." The sprite was tempted to ask about this runaway sister of hers, but it wasn't any of her business, was it? "I'm sure you like how you turned out too, right?"

"Some things you can't change. I suppose that's because you're not supposed to. If everyone could alter so much, I don't think things would be better." she mused, understanding the reasoning, quite surprised that someone so young, or at least appeared so, could be quite as profound. That was fortunate though, considering the circumstances.

Nodding response, Amelia's smile widened a bit more. The more she thought on it, the more she felt it to be true; she was happy with how she turned out, and regretted nothing in the way she was raised. She was honestly very lucky. Even if her mother was gone and her sister had been away from home for years, her father had raised her as best he could, and shaped her into who she was. If he hadn't taught her how to be strong or just, she likely wouldn't have strayed outside Seyruun much at all, never having all those adventures or made so many good friends. "Yes, I do, very much."

Sorry it's so late...! roamin_emotion November 23 2011, 04:14:07 UTC
"Probably not. I couldn't even do that even if I tried!" She managed to laugh at that; her brother might be able to, due to his ability of warping time, but Mesprit wouldn't want to change anything anyway, even if it hurt. "Besides, any mistakes I've made have only made me stronger by learning from them."

From what she could feel from Amelia, Mesprit saw a young lady that had a difficult past, supernatural power and a genuinely-kind heart. She couldn't help but to smile back at her now that she felt so much better. "I may not know you very well, but... I like you the way you are too, Amelia!"

No worries, been busy myself. healsforjustice November 26 2011, 23:25:28 UTC
Nodding in agreement, Amelia brightened up, giggling a bit herself. "Well, I'd much rather have learned that way. I mean, feeling the bad stuff just makes the good all the more meaningful." she replied.

"That means a great deal, thank you." she smiled, reaching out to squeeze Mesprit's hand gently. "And thanks, for making me feel better I mean." she finished, appreciative of the other girl's care, despite how difficult it might have been to deal with her torrent of emotions.

"It really does..." The sprite allowed herself to laugh some more, though she didn't know why. It felt good to laugh after a bit of crying. "It's almost like leveling up and growing stronger!" Whether that would make any sense to Amelia was beyond the sprite, but it seemed similar based on how things happened back in Sinnoh.

"You're very welcome! You do seem much happier now, so it was definitely worth helping you out." Her hand returned the touch, but the urge to give her a hug was hard to resist... so not caring that she was still in the chair, Mesprit leaned out of it to gently embrace her new friend.

Admittedly, that remark on leveling up was lost on Amelia, but she didn't point it out or question the matter. She understood the growing stronger part, and that was enough. She nodded back, smiling in recognition.

"I am, thanks to you Miss Mesprit." she replied warmly, a little surprised, but welcoming of the hug. Wrapping her arms around the other girl in turn, squeezing her affectionately. She was glad that she had been lucky enough to find someone so kind to talk to when she felt like she was at her lowest point, and it was always good to make new friends that could be depended on the in the hotel. "I certainly hope this won't be the last time we meet."

At least it sounded encouraging nonetheless... but the best part was that it made Amelia smile. That was all that mattered!

"Aw, it was nothing... really! I'm just glad that you feel better now!" Mesprit loved hugs - both giving and receiving them - and warm hugs were just the best kind to share. If she ever needed a hug in the future, the sprite was willing to give her one regardless of the reason. "I have a really good feeling that it won't be...!" It was a good prediction for the Psychic Pokemon, one that she really felt would be true somehow.

Honestly, it was just as much the attitude as well as the words. Mesprit was so upbeat and bubbly that Amelia honestly felt her grief could just melt away, easing the burden that had been weighing on her. She counted herself fortunate to have met someone so helpful when she had needed them the most.

"I still appreciate it nonethless." she smiled back, cuddling her new friend more securely to show her gratitude. Of course, she had no idea of the extent of the other girl's abilities, but even so, she had to agree with her. Something told her that even without her usual efforts to keep in touch with people she met in the hotel, it wouldn't be the last she saw of Mesprit, an aspect that made her even happier.
