"Is it...weird to be scared of the memory of something, rather than the actual incident?" she asked, already feeling awkward for bringing up such a question out of nowhere.

He blinked at the question and shook his head as he said, "No. It isn't weird at all. I don't show it as much now, but looking back scared me. Why?"

"I've been dreaming of something that happened a long time ago. Nothing can be done about it. I've been moving on with my life. But here, I can't, and I feel...like I'm betraying that memory by not being able to do what I should, because I'm stuck in this place." she explained, form shaking a little as she spoke.
