(( aaaaand randomness. ))

. . . I'll keep this brief RLY I SWEAR because no one wants another essay from me. |D I can sense this where my feelings are!

But here's some random crap anyway!

Above-Equal-Below

So Tomo categorizes juuuust about everyone she interacts with into a category--Above Tomo, Equal to Tomo, and Below Tomo. These categories don't actually have anything to do with how much she likes a person. There are people in the Below category that Tomo would MUCH rather talk to than people in the Above category, and vice versa. There are also different ways to make it into these categories. Not all of them have to do with having powers or intelligence or the like. Cheri is in the Above category just because she's a counselor and has a good body. |D Whereas not every counselor IS. Jay would be in the Equal category, etc. But at the same time, they're not arbitrary.

Above is almost anyone that Tomo looks up to for some reason. These people have powers, or authority, or fame, or looks, or SOMETHING. With one exception, they also tend to be people that Tomo doesn't actually "know" very well. Interacting with her extensively will almost always knock someone down into the Equal category because if she can relate to you easily and have fun with you, then you must be something like her, and so into that category you go!

Tomo puts a lot of blind faith into these people's abilities. Which isn't the same as trust--Mal is an Above Person and she doesn't trust him at all. But she trusts his abilities, that if something needed to be done, he could do it if he wanted to. It's not even a question. These people are Adults to her, even if they're younger. She doesn't necessarily like them or want to be like them. But they have something that makes Tomo see herself as subordinate to them in her own eyes. They can get away with talking down to Tomo, a little bit, something which infuriates her if someone else does it.

This category includes people like Itachi, Mal, Cheri, Lupin, Rin, Izumi, and Neji.

It also includes Ed, the exception to the "interacting with extensively will result in a bump-down" rule I mentioned up there. Ed's Tomo's best friend, or one of two, and she does interact with him on a sort of "equal" level, but--Ed's also the person Tomo absolutely adores the most. And her faith in the fact that Ed can Do Anything and Beat Anyone keeps him at the very TOP of this category forever and ever, no matter how close they get as friends. He's always someone who's "above her," and above the entire rest of camp, just because he's so very awesome. Ed always wins.

Equal tends to include people that Tomo either gets along with REALLY well, or can directly relate to somehow, or who fall into both the Above and Below categories and so they end up here. They're easiest for Tomo to talk to, usually, and they're the people she'll actually go to with problems or evil plots. >D You can't really get into this category unless Tomo likes you. Equal people are also free to mess with Tomo and push her around and all that, but talking down to her is a no-no.

Sano and Norma are here along with people like Simon, Mori, Tayuya, Chizuru, Axel, Jay, Anon, and Ari.

Below people aren't necessarily people that Tomo looks DOWN on, although some of them are. They're just people that Tomo has something over. Some of them are really good friends to her, some of the best, but if they can't understand "adult" concepts and such then they go here by default. This is also where people go if Tomo's decided to "help" them! >D And people that she looks down on or considers repressed/stunted/childlike/etc. end up here too. So the category kinda runs the gamut from "good friends that just happen not to Get everything yet" to "people I pretty much hate and who don't deserve my time."

So people who are Below are like--Ash, Sora, Roxas, Ueki, Yachiru, Kimimaro, Arnaud, Fllay, Himeko, etc. |D

Robert is alone in a non-category of "someone who fits into all three categories at different times and whom Tomo can't place into any of them." 8D

. . . And what the hell, if I didn't mention your character in the mini-essay and you'd like to know where you fall, or you'd like to know the reasoning behind it, COMMENT AND I SHALL TELL YOU. ♥
