Okay, so I know Roxas's straightening-out-issues post isn't a meme, but actually, I think doing a post with some personal information is a pretty good idea. I've considered starting a similar meme in the OOC comm in the past and collecting comments there about players' schedules/preferences/special issues that come up in their play, but what I'm going to do now is a just a sort of general information post for me, and then I'm going to backdate it to the top of Tomo's LJ (or, well, under the giant links post).
This post will also serve as a permanent concrit meme for all my characters. You know the deal--comments are screened, feel free to hit me AT ANY TIME with ANYTHING you need to say about my characters, anonymously or otherwise, and we'll talk about it. ♥
But first, here are a few things to know about me that will help make playing with me go smoothly for everyone! Because first on the list is that sometimes I fuck up. 8D . . . Actually, let's do contact info first.
Me: I don't really have an internet handle proper! My OOC LJ is over at enough_space (FRIEND ME BITCHES) which is like the least nickname-able LJ name ever. You can just call me Tomo, most people do now! ._.
I play: Takino Tomo and APPARENTLY, I've heard rumors, some other characters: Chisame, Asuna, Yuuma, Shirley, Mikuru, Chao, and Greed.
Available on: If I'm online, I am ALWAYS on IRC and 95% of the time I'm nicked as Tomo. And if I'm on IRC, I'm always--there, because I share my computer. Very occasionally if no one else is home and I want to go sleep I'll be nicked to like Tomo|nap or something; as anyone will tell you, my "naps" tend to last around 6-8 hours, so uh. But yeah. I will often step afk unannounced for ten minutes or so (this always seems to coincide with when Sano-mun decides to go to bed for the night, the bastard), but if you see me on IRC I will get back to you within ten minutes and usually less, even if I'm not active in the game. OH, and if you want to e-mail me, you'll get the quickest response at Tomo's address-- semivictory(at)gmail(dotcom).
Timezone/Language: I only speak English booooooo, and am on EST. However there is really no rhyme or reason to the times I'm online, and they don't rationally coincide with what time it actually IS in my timezone. >D FOR EXAMPLE today I slept from 4:30 PM to midnight, which means I'll be up for the next 14 hours or so, even though it's 2:30 AM!
The playing experience: IMPORTANTLY, I am on dialup. This means that I am slow running a large post, can't download video or sound files and won't come INTO your post if it's necessary to view one, and won't come into posts that are already over 400 or so comments when I log on unless I really want to talk to your character or it's a rare campwide event like PostSecrets.
Also, I receive comment notifications but I don't use them to know when you've replied, because it's slow and unreliable on dialup when I'm in 4-8 threads at once. Instead I refresh the thread by progressing down the line of comments. WHAT THIS MEANS is that like, if I'm threading with Ari or something, and you comment to an earlier comment of mine like 15 minutes later, I won't see it unless you ping me, because I've already moved downthread. So if I don't reply to you, I'm not ignoring you, because I don't ignore ANYONE; I just don't know you replied. Let me know in IRC (preferably with a link) and I'll come reply!
When I'm in a lot of threads at once or playing multiple characters, or if you take longer than 30 minutes to reply to me without announcing AFK when you're not the one running the post, I tend to lose tabs. If I'm not replying and you wanted to keep threading, again, just ping me and link me and I'll pick back up. XD I just get slow and distracted trying to load things sometimes.
FINALLY, I'm totally willing to pick up old threads, but I suck at doing so unless you remind me and link me, so kick me if you want to. |D
Goals: Hahah, actually--I tend not to think about this. My goal is to have fun while staying IC. That's really it. My other goal is to play all of my characters a suitable amount and form relationships (by which I mean uh friendships, not--relationships) with them all. I honestly don't really aim for balance; I'd pretty much have to drop Tomo to achieve it. But as long as I'm active enough with everyone to have fun with them, not idle out, do them justice, and form relationships, I'm good. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO BE THE BEST TOMO ON THE INTARWEBS BUT SOMETIMES I AIM TOO HIGH.
Betaing: I'll beta for anyone whether I know the canon or not! A couple notes: I'm good with grammar but I don't adhere to it 100% strictly, as you can probably tell by any one of my comments or LJ entries, because I don't find it necessary and in fact sometimes find that it detracts from the personality of an app. When betaing I will mention any grammar mistake I find that I personally would hold against the app (typoes, misuse of punctuation, run-ons, verb inconsistencies, etc.). But if you have like, something really minor, I as a voter wouldn't care and so as a beta I won't mention it. If you want your app to be 100% grammatically perfect, don't come to me. :Dd Also, I will sometimes vote for someone I've betaed and sometimes won't, depending on various circumstances. If I do vote on you, I don't guarantee that vote will be an IN. Finally, please don't show me portions of apps or like, ask me if a single line/joke sounds good. If you do this, I'll answer you, but won't vote you in because I feel biased knowing who you are but not having had the chance to give you adequate feedback.
Oh, and things I do as a beta: grammar, flow, humor, consistent voice, ICness if I know the canon, structure, length. Things I will NOT do as a beta: suggest jokes, directly reword sentences, send you back anything different from what you sent me, tell you what to cut out or how exactly to fix something to make it funnier/more IC/etc. That kind of thing is up to you.
AUs: I will AU as a joke if it doesn't actually involve sex, sure. Actual sex is probably a no. For one thing, the only character I would feel remotely comfortable AUing as is Tomo for various reasons, and--it's Tomo. XD PROOOOOBABLY NOT HAPPENING. Also I suck at writing sex like a lot.
Pimping: Because I'm on dialup, I pretty much can't. ;o; You'll have to go to my canonmates for that.
Other: BUT A WOLF?! Oh, I should mention this. Sometimes I get PMs from people who think I'm a mod. XD I'm not! I'm an op on IRC, which means you can come to me with IRC concerns and such, but I'm not a game mod, so I can't like tell you whether or not Ecksdee McSmiley would be camper appable or whether a certain pet journal would be okay.
OH RIGHT LAST THING. Tomo is annoying and oversteps boundaries, Greed is evil, Yuuma is pushy, Chao is manipulative, Chisame is angry and can be really bitchy. But I don't want to be any of these things. XD; So yeah. Let me know if I overstep. I tend to jump into threads or ask to jump into threads even if they don't really involve me; feel free to say no. NO, TOMO, GO AWAY. Or anything else I do that's wrong, because I fuck up sometimes.
