First things first?
OMG the date asking was adorable!!!! EE! i thought it would be really serious and very much a dramatic performance but omg how brilliant! So much humour and light-heartedness. Ianto being flustered! The way Ianto and Jack are now working together, alone. And Jack's dialogue about office romances and how they were sexy was priceless. Ianto's complete despair with him, and just EVERYTHING. OH oh oh.
Ianto telling Jack that he'd search the office and Jack could search the roof was fantastic. "You might get too excited. And I know how much you like roofs." Gotta love this new sarcastic Ianto. The last bit of the scene was brilliant too. "Is that a yes?" "Yes... that's a yes." The way Ianto replies, so quiet and broken, is so so beautiful :D
Also...
JACK TELLS IANTO THAT HE'S WHY HE CAME BACK!! EEP!. I never thought that would happen. And then his whole quick, awkward rephrasing as the whole team looks confused.
I didn't like the Jack/Gwen thing. It was nipped in the bud quite quickly but Jack looked just plain hurt that she was getting married. And then her telling Ianto and Tosh to tell Jack she loved him when she was about to die? Not on. Oh well, I forgive them. The Jack/Gwen shippers will be happy!
"Trust me, I'm an improviser." Oh Owen. I'm so happy you're adorable and not a prick this season. And Tosh is absolutely fabulous. Her flirting with John was perhaps one of the best unexpected moments in the episode. So adorable.
Finally, John? WAS FANTASTIC. I had an instant dislike for him the first five minutes which shocked me, but by the end you just wanted him to join Torchwood for good. And it was left wide open for his return, which is wonderful. His interactions with Jack were a expertly crafted thing, proper ex's. And Ianto's jealously throughout was brilliant.
Pros:
+ Everything Jack/Ianto was perfectly handled. Just tentative enough to be real and just warm enough to be the beginning of something.
+ The team. Oh team, I love you.
+ Ianto saving the day!
+ Gwen's hair.
+ The locations were once again picked perfectly.
+ Any interaction with Jack and Ianto.
+ Tosh and Owen together.
+ Jack looking at the vial of Ianto's blood as though it was the answer to eternal life. So amusing and unneeded but brilliantly Torchwood.
+ Starwars references!
+ The quick reference to the doctor. And Ianto's jealousy that Jack would go back to him.
Cons:
+ I didn't enjoy the storyline that much, but I think that was due to the whole awkwardness of Jack's return. You really felt that things would be better without him, which was clever but didn't flow as smoothly as it could've.
+ Somehow the show felt different, sometimes in a good way but sometimes in a low budget way. Which shouldn't be the case this time around.
+ This isn't really a con but it was really hard to get used to Ianto being chatty and there. It was quite odd, but not unpleasant. It's still a new dynamic though. There is no longer four, and one at the hub. There is four, and one who came back.
What's coming up?
Uh, Ianto kiss? STILL HOT. And Owen's line?
Owen : It's the end of the world. Let's all have sex.
Ianto : And I thought the end of the world couldn't get much worse.
ETA: The BBC website has majorly updated! Yey! Which inthesestones style emails. It's wonderful. I particuarly love this one, from Ianto to Tosh.

Can you have a word with the Tourist Board? I'm trying to get hold of new brochures and leaflets for the dummy office (most of ours are from 2005) and they're being funny about sending me more than one of each. There used to be a lady at their office who sorted them out for me but she's on maternity leave.
Sorry about what I said earlier, by the way. There's no reason you should do everything Jack's way. You're here and he's not.
Ianto
I can just imagine Ianto snapping at people because he's missing Jack, and then feeling terrible. Oh show.
