Johnny's Saloon

I kept thinking last Sunday night when I pulled out of the drive way from home "we could have gone out somewhere else....".

Yeah...too late now, wheels were already in motion and it had just started to rain... I though "fuck, my hair will go flat and that will be the end of my awesome pomp". Had HB with me, just bought a pack of smokes and some energy drinks to perc ourselfs up. We were looking good and ready to drink our fustrations away.

We get to the place and already I see drunk angst taking place in the parking lot...

Som girl sobbing about how her best friend has a great boyfriend, and how she doesn't have anyone, and her family wasn't supportive and blah blah blah and some other whinny shit.... I wanted to either get her a shot of something stiff or punch her in the back of her mellon sized head. But it's my first time here, I don't know anyone.... so I showed security my ID and went inside....

And inside the place was DARK. Not little dark but almost to the point where you could be doing something that may be immoral or maybe illegal (which btw, I'm sure the managment does not endorce nor conceide or encourage that sort of thing there) and go about it unnoticed. Cool points....

HB got us a table, I went to the bar to open a tab and asked the bar keep "wha'cha got on tap?".....

"....we ain't got a tap..."

WTF!? A bar without a tap is almost like a titty bar without titties! "Just bottles and cans....".

I rubbed my eyes and winced, "Alright, Jack'n'coke with a lime, a heff, and a shot of wild turkey....".

"We don't have Wild Turkey.....". Seriously I was ready to bust a 180 and get the hell out of there... but we were stuck in Huntington Beach, and LA is just too far away....

HB noticed that I wasn't having fun. But I told her "fuck it", we're here and we might as well make the best of it. Which by the way I did ended up having a great time there, people were friendly, bartender was cool and had a great pouring hand. Music there was great.... and all in all despite it's set backs, I actually had a great time.

If you're ever in the area, look'em up.....
