What: A chance meeting at Tai's aka Koushiro's reappearance
Why: Quang's entrance rp log
When: Maybe sometime during the week of July 19th?
Who: Koushiro and Iori
Where: Taichi's apartment building
What a long day. Kendo classes had let out late that night and it was nearing nine already. He probably should have just headed home, but he'd told Taichi that he'd try to stop by after. With his luck, though, Tai would have figured that he wasn't able to come over and gone out.
Oh well, walking wasn't going to hurt him.
As he came around the corner to the front of Tai's apartment building, he caught sight of a redhead. A very familiar redhead. "Koushiro-kun?"
The redhead had been fumbling through his bag looking for a key to the dorm room, having been absent for so long, it must have been misplaced.
Turning around as he heard his name, he saw a familiar face, Iori. Memories of the young boy in middle school still fresh. “Oh, hi Iori, Long time no see.”
"Hi," he greeted back, surprised to see the other. He'd been absent from the digidestined’s lives for months now... maybe even around a year, now that he thought about it. He hadn't seen or heard from or about Koushiro since he came back the April of last year.
"It's been a while," he remarked. "How have you been?"
"Sorry for just disappearing like I did. I guess I've learned a lot to say the least. I was with someone who was close with my parents.” Saying this, Koushiro had really felt a different person from last year. Being truly away from the rest of the digidestined for the longest time he's known. "How about you? What are you coming to Tai's for this late?"
"Oh, nothing much new. Just getting through the last year of high school."
He paused at the second question, glance back at the apartment complex. "I said I'd try to stop by to visit when kendo class was finished. It ran late tonight; I don't know if he's still in. He might have gone out drinking or something."
"Hmm, let’s hope I can find my key then, or we might be stuck out here."
Starting to remove the contents of his bag, he caught a glimpse of the shiny key and fished it out. "Perfect, let’s get inside shall we." Pushing open the door and gesturing to Iori.
He followed him inside the building. Asking awkwardly, "Oh, you still have your key? I thought you had moved out." He supposed that meant Koushiro would be living in the apartment with Tai again.
Oddly, he felt bitter about that. Iori guessed it was because he'd gotten used to coming over and spending time with Tai. It'd been nice to have someone to talk to and have fun with. With Koushiro back at the apartment, he doubted that he'd be coming over as much.
"Well, I never had a chance to give it back, and I guess if Tai hasn't requested a lock change he wouldn't mind too much about me showing up again." Starting to think he would be intruding on Tai by suddenly entering again, he tried not to alter anything as he began walking in. Looking back on Iori, he noticed a somewhat troubled look on his face. "Are you feeling alright??"
"Yeah, yes, I'm fine," he fumbled out. His worry must be showing on his face. Really, he was just overreacting. There wasn't anything to be upset about.
That didn't stop him from glancing at his watch and commenting, "It's really later. I think maybe I should go after all. Tell Tai I'll see him in the morning, okay?" Already he was backing out of the apartment door.
"So soon? I could tell Tai that you stopped by if you want." Surprised by Iori's sudden intent to leave, Koushiro had started towards Iori and gave him a confused look
"Yeah, I don't want to be a bother." He tried to offer a smile. "Sure, that'd be fine."
"Erm, Alright. Don't let me keep you from something important." He said even though he had a feeling that Iori just wanted to get away. He felt like he shouldn't be interfering with him too much after just returning from such a long absence.
"No, it's not that. I just need to get home." He turned back to talk to Koushiro from the hallway. "It's nice to see you again; welcome back. I'll probably see you around later on."
"Bye," he waved a goodbye, heading out of the building.
"Bye, let’s keep in touch okay?" Watching as Iori walked away, sharing some of the traits of the younger version, but being quite a different person. Pondering what to make of the exchange, Koushiro had been lying down on the bed he hadn't touched at all this past year.
Leaving it as is, Koushiro decided to just let go and hit the hay until Tai returned.
