I am surprised you comment on how a person's hair shapes their face. Before you cut yours you looked like Quirky the Clown. Although, it is incredibly cute short.
You remind me too much of my friend AJ. That is a horrible thing. Glengarry Glen Ross and Amadeus are his favorite movies, he is addicted to Sinatra and operas, he enjoys his company to an extent other people dislike his company. [For some reason I believe this to be true of you, too.] And he is very short.
I dont know how to fairly dismiss or engage you. You're able to communicate effectively and effusively. Your ambition is respected but your sensibility is diluted. I went to Yale and never did I meet such a smug son of a bitch. You are very immature.
I am not going to vote for you positively. So far your thread comments havent impressed me and I have yet to see an example of your writing which changes my mind. Tune down and lose the slope.
I don't like opera, or Frank Sinatra, and I've never seen Amadeus. I do, however, have a friend named AJ, and we have lots of things in common, like how early we had to start shaving (at least, he should have started shaving; he's Moslem and is therefore growing a beard

It's starts off lovely. I wish it ended with That’s what the music was, it was slow. It was soft and loud and hot, and people were holding people. She was holding him.
You live and dont let go. My only suggestion is to be weary of your expression and its symbolism. There is too much romance in the first half of your story; you lose the reader when it becomes a selfish trap of whoring.
Like your application, I dispute the content. You write well, Abram. Is it accident or design that you are one beat off?
Nice of you to officially join us. I almost wish you would have lurked until we got the new application. I don't think this one does you justice, although you did quite well.
I like how honest and unforced your long answers were. I like how you managed to tell us something personal in the clothing questions. And a bunch of other things, but what I am getting at is yes.
maybe i like to assume the good in all people, but even though you admit to being pompous in an above comment to sensuousx, i am not overwhelmed with disgust for your braggart tendencies. i think you exhibit your talent & intelligence with flare & dignity, rather than flaunting your knowledge of subjects no one really cares about [i had an english teacher who was more concerned with talking about what he knew, rather than instructing us in what we should know]. the free-flowing length and honesty in your application is refreshing. i respect your taking the initiative and elaborating on all of your responses rather than settling for the bare minimum.
i am a terrible painter, but a fan of pollock's work; it excites me to see him on your list. i also love vladimir nabokov's lolita [though i enjoyed pale fire much more], for similar reasons. humbert humbert is such a haunted, honest man, and his obsession with lo is downplayed by the lack of description during their sexual encounters. the language is so enchanting & manipulative that you don't

Perhaps I am voting mostly on bias, however it is difficult for me to even entertain giving you a no because I already have such a wonderful impression of you though both your livejournal and the comments you've made whilst here.
The application was long, but not to a point where it felt forced. I enjoyed reading it and didn't find myself bored or in vehement disagreement at any point. I would love to be able to actually get to know you. You remind me of a few people that I know and get on with extremely well. Which is a good thing.
I agree you should probably tone down the ego a smudge, but you have a way with your arrogance that, in my personal opinion, comes off without too much offence. Perhaps that's because I too am a bit egocentric. :)
