quick question: do any of you have suggestions on what to do about this drought we're experiencing with applications. we've gotten some but not many. i've tried submitting the community to various community advertisement communities but it hasn't helped at all.

im open to any ideas.

Looks like the elitism is working!!!

No one wants to join the community out of fear. And because cuntiness is incredibly unattractive. But it looks to me that a few members of the group really want to change that attitude and image. I hope you're one of 'em.

I think we should save advertisement for the new application. Have you been pushing the old design or the new one? I don't want to whore, but thats how you get applicants I suppose. Maybe change the interests list (to reflect our new approach).

most definitely the new design. i really like the approach of intelligence over cockiness. i do agree it will be much better to advertise the community once the new application is approved. also we need a more sufficient layout. any ideas?

Unfortunately, I can't think of anything appropriate. Maybe something unrelated but pretty. Since "intelligence" isn't much of a theme.

i think the little text boxes are way too narrow. i think it's silly to take up such a small fraction of cyberspace.

but, i like the simple design. perhaps if we merely placed a black & white image on the left side, perhaps with some red... hmm. i'm feeling geekily photoshopic!

(I only voted the golem out once because I felt the golem was a gimmick and therefore didn't belong here, however .. the golem has proved its worth and I enjoy the golem's presence.)

I think that personal word of mouth often works better than cold advertisements in other communities, etc.

I'll do my best to entice intelligent friends to apply, however I am waiting for the new application.

I think it's important to remember that at the moment we're settling things and smoothing out glitches as best we can. Once we're where we want to be as a community within ourselves, I think that applications may flow in at a more desirable pace.
