_I thought I'd take advantage of my allotted four pictures and show a brief timeline displaying
how as I became more cynical and paranoid (and subsequently sober), my hair gradually wasted away.
I eventually became a religious icon.
art & literature:
_name a musician [or group] who has effectively changed your perspective or expanded your
thinking. include lyrics that bear some significance to you, and describe their representation of
your ideas & emotions.
Antonio Carlos Jobim has indirectly gotten me through some very hard times. There were
points in my life where I didn't feel like ending my life but I still saw no reason to continue
living it. His words reminded me that everybody does this and taught me to enjoy what I could.
São as águas de março
fechando o verão
É a promessa de vida
no teu coração
These particularly convinced me of the "brighter side" of things.
_explain, in depth, a particular work of art that you find meaningful, and its importance to
you on a personal level.
One work of art that will always stand out in my mind is Smetana's Die Moldau. My aunt was dying
of lung cancer and we were all on a vacation at Lake Nacimiento. One day I took her out on a small
trip in the pontoon boat. I started to play Smetana on a record player I had brought along and she
asked me to come over and sit next to her. She leaned onto my shoulder and just kept saying how
beautiful the song was. Eventually, she fell asleep and I took her back to the house. She died a
year later and that was my last clear memory of her. Whenever I hear that song now I can vividly
remember the event.

personal & political:
_what is one social ill you wish you could change and why? how does this affect you in your
daily life, or in the lives of those around you?
I've noticed a few people using this question to complain about how women in this country are
obsessed with having an unrealistic body. This is a very legitimate complaint. Women tend to
complain most about how fat they are and this can be annoying when they are at a perfectly healthy
weight. My complaint is that both males and females aren't focused on health. The problem
most people have with this is that healthy looks different for different people. People who
are trying to be unreasonably skinny have caused a problem these days, but there's also the
problem of obesity. I think the source of these problems is not the sole responsibility of
"fashion" or "the media". It is half the problem of foodmakers which continue to pump loads of
garbage into the markets and half the problem of advertisers. In my opinion this is, in a bitter
way, proof that this is the greatest country there is. We should all have the right to kill
ourselves like this. That was sure convoluted.
_who or what has most inspired your intellectual growth and why?
The Holy Bible has most inspired my intellectual growth. It was the first book to ever have me
seriously considering philisophical issues and to ever make me question anything beyond this life.
_do you feel that you are prejudiced?
Yes, and I feel that anyone who feels that they aren't is kidding themselves. To be completely
unprejudiced is to be completely impractical. Humans naturally use prejudice every day to make
decisions.
_do you think it is necessary to be politically correct in a learning environment? a working
environment?
For one to truly learn they cannot be politically correct, because the purpose of political
correctness is to inhibit truth telling. In a work environment, depending on your line of work,
you basically have to sell out and be politically correct in order to make a living.
_in our generation, who do you feel deserves recognition as a genius, and why? what
characteristics do they possess that are definitive of this title?
Ernest Emerson is a genius. His body of work has an amazing range and you can see in each
hand-made piece that he is truly a master of ancient warfare. He spent his entire life learning,
absorbing as much knowledge as he could, and training. He should be noted for his amazing
karambit, which is the highest-quality in the world and for his titanium knife techniques. Once,
he made a specialty knife for another arguable genius, Ronnie Barrett, inventor of the Barrett .50
calibre rifle, and again best in the world in his field.
free expression:
_describe your greatest passion in life.
Music. Without music I would be in Virginia right now hunting all day long and eventually become a
hermit/wood sprite. I love to listen, create, and talk about music. As I said before, it really
has kept me going.
_describe yourself in ten adjectives - five positive traits, and five character flaws.
rad
reasonable
unconfused and
seasoned yet
curious
mad

sad
contemptuous
niggardly
