art & literature:
_ I really love the song, "I Woke Up in a Car" by Something Corporate.
"i woke up in new york city
from my sleep behind the wheel
caught a train to the kipsey
and time stood still"
I would love to wake up like that, and more often than not, I try to. I want to experience everything I can, especially being complete free. To me, this feels so free.
"she wrote me a letter from san diego
to qualify her luck
these flights connect through arizona
but i think i'll stay stuck"
I often drive to see my family and friends who are far away at the last moment. I like to feel like I have options. I like to not leave and feel like I'm not stuck. This song, which my best friend introduced me to, reminds me of this sentiment.
"i met a girl who kept tattoos for homes
that she had loved
if i were her i'd paint my body
until all my skin was gone"
I'd like to live in so many places that I'd paint my body until all my skin was gone. Because of this song, I felt I'd like to do something creative like that. It was part of my inspiration that yes, I do want to be an art student.
_Diane Arbus is a famous femal photographer. She takes picture of unique people, such as this one:
Not only does this image have excellent composition with balance, harmony and contrast, it also makes a strong political statemnt. This child was in Central Park in New York City during the year 1962. How is it that our children can be holding hand grenades? What sort of a world did we have back then? Now, this child is old enough to be older than my father.

personal & political:
_I wish I could change the mental stability problems in our society. So many people now are depressed, alone, scared and feel helpless. I, myself, know from personal experience. No one reached out to me, although I was depressed for over a decade, as a child and young adult. I see people I would like to reach out to, but I know my reaching could possibly only make things worse.
_When I was a high school senior, I had a teacher named Mrs. Haynes. On one of my creative writing assignments, she wrote: "I know you'll be a fantastic forensic pathologist, but will you have time for creativity?" She encouraged me to embrace the artistic nature that has always been threatening to come out and realize my full potential. I owe her everything.
_No, the only reason I would even consider agreeing is because I am unable to receive credit for the knowledge I currently have, but that is an extremely weak answer.
_I feel that respect is necessary in any environment. Any time there is a lack of respect, there is also a lack of political correctness. In our current day and age, however, political correctness is a bit overboard.
_To be a genius, people must challenge current standards in a way in which they can expose other people to their ideas convincingly. People should never be called a genius until after their death, because we do not know the true extent of their success until they are no longer able to succeed.
free expression:
_I love photography. Black and white or color, being able to create an image and retain it while observing the world around me is an incredibly immense feeling. I am enamored of my camera, darkroom and photography friends.
