I love the mix of affection and irritation here...How well they know each other, how to rub all the right and wrong ways ;) Power play and issues of control with these two are so interesting, and this was a very hot take!

The idea of chess against Spock being a game that Kirk plays to lose pushes buttons of glee in me. Except that clearly this kind of chess game is win-win for all parties.

Ahaha, well, I suppose I could. I just have a problem with the ol' inspiration tank. Most stories I start never end up finished. This was actually my third attempt at a Star Trek fic.

The first was a Bones/Spock, and the second was one of the infamous "sex pollen"-type stories. Neither will probably be finished. XD
