it's official... i have been nominated for a teaching placement in the pacific islands. my recruiter informs me that this is actually the toughest region that peace corps serves in (which is due to the isolated nature of the islands). while this sounds like it could be very interesting, and i am sure if this is where i am placed that i will learn
