1. I had a good birthday. We went to Chili's after work. Just in case you're wondering I had water and lemon to drink.

2. I saw a hummingbird while walking to work today.

3. I am the proud owner of an all-in-one fork, spoon and knife.

4. I have done 10 GRE questions. I now realized how much of physics I have forgotten. Oops.

Work is going well. In short, I look at stellar spectra and find Meaning in them, specifically with respect to hot stars. I figure out the surface gravity, effective temperatures and mass loss rates of the stars by creating models that imitate the spectra. Phil's been a great advisor, and he seems happy with my work ( Read more... )

I hiked part of the Grand Canyon yesterday with the REU group. We went down the South Kaibab until a little bit beyond Ceder Point, where we ate lunch near some nice rocks and a very aggressive squirrel. It was tiring, but in a good way.
