By the Gods, I am bloody furious - Despite the mass walkout a few months ago I stayed a member of Pagan Network as I enjoy the debates but the recent post on Islam leaves me sickened to the bottom of my stomach as it degenerated into the sort of remarks that could get you locked up for inciting racial hatred. I have no idea what sort of hold some ( Read more... )

I had a certain 'W' come over to post on my LJ to tell me to stop posting about it in my LJ. Apparently I was making it worse. Oh I see. A self confessed troll, hoaxer, and bigot is allowed to post his religious hatred on a public forum, yet I am the one causing trouble? I sometimes wonder if the admin over there have one braincell between them.

I bet that thread has scared off some of their new fluffy members.

And LOL at Rainbowleigh bitching about how much work it is freezing a thread. If it is such hard work running a forum, then hand it to someone who wants to do it. Oh, and ban the people spewing religious hatred all over your forum too. She would be surprised how many people would prefer not to see that on a pagan forum.

I was reading on an N.A. pagan forum last night ( many places not known for being anything but vanilla) and PN's name came up. And yes, someone wrote " Isn't that the racist forum in the U.K. that has a girl's Norse belief system? That's not BTW is it ( ... )

Tony is one of those people that thinks the world owes him a living. He sees people, most of whom work hard for what they have, and thinks that he is entitled to the same things they have. His lack of empowerment and ability to get on in life have made him bitter. He wants to be seen as an intellectual, yet his personality and lack of well, erm . . . . intellect mean his attemps promote either smirks or derision. His current hatred is aimed at the Muslims, his other hatred is aimed at the 'middle classes' - i.e. anyone who can afford to own a house/car and doesn't rely on state benefits. All of these things together create a very bitter person, so I don't think he is deliberately trolling, he really is a bigot, expressing his opinions ( ... )

Who shall we blame for this? rhiannonbw June 17 2008, 08:38:27 UTC
Alcohol accounts for millions of pounds in the medical and police force costs - the fixing up of, not their drinking of it :). Thousands of people are maimed, killed, kill others and generally wreak havoc and mayhem on the social fabric of the country. The sheer statistics puts drug use in the shade ( ... )

Starting off your post muttering about alcohol?? Had to smile as Tony is well known for being a drunkard. Maybe that's why he despises devout Muslims? ;o)

My post was supposed to be ironic, about how these people whinge about the money that is in certain sections of the community, when they sit there actually giving money hand-over-fist to the very people they're whinging about. I don't like Tescos so I don't give them my money. If these bigots really, truly despised those they see as 'foreigners' then they should stop funding them, stop spending money with them.

Has anyone thought about reporting PN to PEBBLE - PEBBLE has specific policies about no groups being part of it that bring paganism into disrepute or who allow racist commentary.

Sorry! squirrelboiler June 17 2008, 09:45:44 UTC
About double posting.

I thought I'd lost the first one. Christ, I'm prolix enough as it is without dancing twice!

Sorry again.

I realise that it's probably been taken down by now but unless so would you please provide a link to the unsavory thread in question? If it has been taken down then how horrible was it and what has happened about it since?

Curiously,

John.
