Well, probably not what you're looking for, but I've resorted to just baking soda and apple cider vinegar. With jojoba or coconut oil when I'm in Calgary and the dry air starts to do its number on my hair. Mostly because I'm a cheap-ass and hate spending $$$ on good quality shampoo, and I detest cheap perfume even more than spending money.

I've stuck with it for about two years now. Works pretty good.

I tried that for a while, but I found I liked shampoo as a regular thing and baking soda only occasionally - it dries my hair out a bit. I need to get some jojoba. Much less salady-smelling than olive.

Jojoba is good.

You can get either unrefined coconut oil (which smells like coconut) or refined (which doesn't have any smell). Melt it in your hands and apply just a little in the shower. Work it in using hot water.

Refined sounds good. Coconut smell is fine in small doses, but I get sick of it real fast.

Trichomania, the coconut one. I was having good luck with... whatever the green flavour of the round bars is. Karma?

Lush conditioners do that to me too. It's a nuisance, because I really like their solid shampoos, but the conditioners are distressingly horrid.

I like their vanilla liquid conditioner, but I have to use such enormous amounts of it that it's just not economic. The solid conditioner is awful.
