I don't usually, and I don't usually have a thing for Kira, but they put her in Cardassian makeup and ROWR.

She DID look good in that episode. I mean, Nana Visitor is hot throughout the entire show in my opinion, but especially there.

Garak and Bashier - well, mostly Garak - are my favourite characters on the show. I'm quite fond of Kira, too.

The best fics I've found are all by thehoyden: Letters from the Northern Continent, Literacy, Opacity of Paradise and Exile.

I vaguely remember finding Bashir annoying when I watched the first run, but I like him now. Which is odd, since I would have said my tolerance for callow young men had gone down.

It's been a long time since I watched the show-I could well be improving him in my mind based on fic... My tolerance for callow young men is generally decreasing as well.

i think he grows on you because he is so often less callow and more tiny rabbit in the headlights of the universe oh look at the giant eyes and the determined attempts to do the right thing while being really QUITE dorky and fangirling garak like crazy at first before growing to love understand that he's rally quite a complex bundle of bad, good and awesome.

(and then in the mirrorverse he gets to be stubbly and grumpy and nrrrrrgh.)

(i like the mirrorverse. especially the chaining up parts.)

NGL, Bashir/O'Brien is my DS9 OTP. I need 20k of set up about how Keiko and O'Brien had an okay break up because she wanted to live on Earth etc etc but still, OTP.

I can get on board with Bashir/O'Brien (with the same caveat about Keiko), but that means Bashir and Garak are going to break up and that is SAAAAAD.
