I'm productive, but in an unproductive sort of way.

I should be doing schoolwork, housework, or laundry. Instead, I'm all about fandom.

Somehow, the slashy silliness of BBC's Merlin (seriously, it's like they're not even pretending anymore) has inspired me to finish that LOTR meta fic I started ages ago. In it, the members of the Fellowship have an encounter with slash fiction, and nobody gets ( Read more... )

Ahahaha...I am so glad to have dragged you into the silly, wonderful world that is Merlin fandom. (I recently saw the show described as visual fanfiction, where the original legends are canon. Holding it to the standard of fandom, rather than to the standards of the original, tends to make it easier to put up with.)

And because I am just THAT evil, I present to you some Merlin recs:

-anything by phantomjam
- THIS, because...because...just read it.

There's a lot more, but because I'm actually sitting in the middle of Bizzell writing this (SERIOUSLY, IT EATS YOUR BRAIN) instead of at home with my computer and my favorites list, this is all for now. Expect more once I get home from class.

:D I don't normally watch fanvids, but I absolutely couldn't stop laughing when I saw this one.

As for fanfiction, I have seriously way too many bookmarked for only having been in this fandom two months, so here's a selection (You may notice that my taste tends to run to angst and/or pre-slash.):

- That Shall Achieve the Sword (bonus points for actually incorporating some real Arthurian legend in this one!)
- Peach, Plum, Pear
- Brevity of Sensation (post ep. 7)
- If At Any Point You Were Thinking (post ep. 13)
- I'll Be Here (post ep. 13)
- The Calm After the Storm (post ep. 13)
- Our Horizon is the Creation (through ep. 11)
- Quickening Days
- Bookends (and everything else by this author)
- Meteorology
- Controllable Things
- Lo, An Idiot
- But How Strange, the Change
- The Wandering Years

...God. And this isn't even all of them.
