I do understand! Sometimes they go all quiet on you, and you just can't understand why! Or they just refuse to cooperate on the story you NEED to write, and romp off to play with the ones you aren't ready for...

You might try spending a little time with the Source; sometimes that helps me to get my hobbits talking. I'm not quite sure how to help with the characters from the other fandoms, though...

It's worth a shot. It's doubly frustrating to be working on something like The Quiet Hobbit, which should be a cinch, you know? :(

Take this, (MUST...WRITE...MINDMELD...FIC) and write it using the wrong characters like, I dunno, have Frodo mindmeld with Rose Cotton just to see if she's really being honest about her feelings for Sam. Or let Gandalf do the Vulcan nerve pinch on some of the Black Riders.
Just write something so far out there that it doesn't matter if it's good. Maybe that will relax you and you can get back to what you were working on.
At the very least it'll be fun. How about if Harry Potter decides to take up ballet?

I can't help you at all, but I just want to point out that you should rejoice, for you have ENDLESS SUPPLIES OF ICED TEA and I still DO NOT. I bet it's sweet, too, isn't it?!

That is so miserable! I'm lost without my characters in my head.I find if I relax they usually come back in a few days.

I think your creativity is telling you to write original fic and stop with the fanfiction for a while.

Listen to it, it might be right ;)
