First, the update:  I am being audited (being an attorney is apparently one of those things that triggers "heightened review", or so I've been told).  No big deal, as the amount in question is $200.  However, I think the IRS has overstated what I owe (the income in question relates to certain securities I sold during 2005), and I may take my time
