Gosh, I love John Winchester. I started reading the fic Apocrypha a couple days ago, and I am loving it so far. I wasn't feeling well this morning, so I lazed around in bed for a little longer than normal, pulled out my iPad and glanced through the Vids I have stored on there. These are my two favorites. They're from S1, and so they have the impression we had of John in the first season, without all the information, reliable and otherwise, that we've learned about him since. They were made by a couple of the best vidders, then and now. The first one is Last Stand in Open Country, by Jules, stir_of_echoes. You'll need to scroll down the page till you get to it.

Great recs!!! I liked Last Stand. She also has another vid there called 'For the Love of Dean' - that is a most awesome vid. Brought tears to my eyes.

I particularly loved loved loved Desperado. I love that song anyway (it's one of my all-time favorites) and to have this vided with John being the Desperado, so very fitting. That vid is awesome. I am familiar with some of wolfspup's work, but I don't think I have ever seen this particular vids page. Same goes for Jules.

I will definitely need to spend some time on these two pages going through all their vids. If the ones I viewed are any indication of what the others will be like, I think I am in for a real viewing treat.

Thank you so much for the recs. Desperado has me mesmerized. I loved John, but watching that vid just upped my love for him all the more. :)

There are other Desperado vids--el1ie did one of Jo and Ellen, to the Eagles reprise of the song, called Farewell Desperado.

There are several vids about Dean vidded to the song, by various artists, all you have to do is search 'SPN Desperado', or 'Dean Desperado' on YT. What I'd love to see is all the SPN women vidded to the Ronstadt version of the song.

But meanwhile, this John one probably will always be my favorite. The cuts to the lyrics are just amazing, all over again, every time I watch it after a little time has passed.

I am familiar with ellie's vids, she is great, but I haven't ever seen the Farewell Desperado one. That was great. I loved Ellen. Not as fond of Jo, but I liked her okay.

I will have to search YT for some other Desperado vids of Dean. I just love that song, and it does fit so well with the Winchesters.

And yes, the lyrics fit so perfectly in the Desperado vid with John. I have a number of favorites, and I think this one has climbed near to the top. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. thanks again.
