Yeah...freelancing doesn't seem to be a legitimate source of income. Boo.

Well, the next tactic was going to be having a Portuguese person assume responsibility for me [officially - but I'd still be providing for myself], but I went to immigration aid today to ask about that possibility and it sounds a lot less likely now. Going to immigration on Wednesday for something else and will ask again...but I'm not particularly hopeful anymore. Will probably end up going back to the US to lick my wounds for a while before maybe trying again.
