Honest mistake...mercurtio247August 26 2008, 18:06:57 UTC
You know how many time sI lapped that &*& lot looking for the thing, then after determining that if it were lost I would make sure I didn't let it spoil my best friends' wedding day? huh? really? I am still convinced it was put back after I went inside to report the loss...

Given that it wasn't until like 6 months later that we learned about your little... episode, I would say that your efforts were not only a kind gesture, but also rather successful. And I hope you'll accept as a return of said sentiments the supposition on my part that had I discovered your dilemma at the time, I would have been far more upset about the assumed auto theft than my own future brother in law's snapping of my only trunk key while sole trip necessities were stilll locked in said trunk.
And then, upon you rediscovering your car, would have had the DJ relay the story to the guests, which I suspect you guessed at and that that may have had no small part in your decision to keep the affair silent at the time. But as I said, trying not to "spoil" our wedding was a nice gesture too.

See? Is not this a better story to tell than the one where the car was actually gone? Or that the reception was interrupted with the announcement? All the better. and yes... had all the fun facts been know, I am sure that if the DJ had the music to "Dude, Where's My Car?" it would have been played...
and a good thing toomercurtio247August 27 2008, 13:23:58 UTC
I am glad you gave up... hey, wait... so why was it you were retuning my coat to me just before I noticed the car gone? I didn't remember leaving it with you....
