Tough weekend both for character development and personal development. Faire training has acted like a lens to shine light into those dark corners I do not want to look at. It really makes you look at yourself while looking at your character and in doing so, you notice where the paint is peeling or some holes in the walls you do not approve of. ( Read more... )

I really enjoy hearing about Faire from the other side, if you will. I know there is so much that goes into creating a successful identity, and that the process can be excrutiating as well as immensely rewarding from what I have heard from those who have done it. It's neat being able to kibbitz that journey. :D

Cool, glad you are enjoying it. :) I hope to see you out there sometime so you can see some of the hard work come to fruition. :D

2. You, sir, are a comedic genius. When you looked at Kitt and said "No, now we're going to do BOTH," I thought I'd end up in the ditch laughing. I'm not sure how fleshed out Sawbones really is, but I'm definitely going to enjoy working with you in the lanes this season.

3. Have you ever seen the Full Monty? If you haven't, or if it's been a while, give it a go. The dialect in that film helped me quite a bit.

4a. "Do you want to fly?" PRICELESS.
b. I loved it when you got all indignant every time someone told you you weren't doing it right. That was awesome.

2. Thank you for saying so. I agree, I can already see so much trouble we will be able to get into. Going to be a blast.

3. I have but it has been awhile. I will check it out again.

As for my #5, your scen with Wes is what I am referring to. You created a fantastic situation that could have gone anywhere but you two stayed on a dramatic flavor that was fantastic to watch. As I said then, it was awesome seeing you agonizing over certain decisions like stepping off the ship to save it even though you probably would have rather stab yourself. Brilliant theater.

2. Oh, absolutely, I can't wait. >:D

3. If you don't have a copy, I have it on my computron, I can burn it for you.

5. I can't take all the credit for that, at all. Blackthorn is the freaking MAN. I hope that I have moments half as awesome with people in the lanes, because that was easily one of my favorite scenes this year, and I give mucho kudos to Wes for grabbing what I gave him and running with it for MILES.

Indeed. It's funny how all this character introspection we do tends to end up turning the spotlight at the actor's inner workings too, as a natural continuation of the process. I think it's part of the reason that Faire is so very often a growth experience, and usually a positive one ( ... )

1. You get that you are one of those folks, right?
4a. I get that and look forward to seeing it
4b. I get that too - and can see it in Avery
