Other than Paul42 on pbase, are there any other good Scarby pictures sites?
Two weekends past, the 17th through 18th. I enjoyed a Saturday at home, celebrating our daughters first birthday. SO many people came out and she had a grand time. Lots of noises, things to see, new stuff to taste, toys to play with and books to read. She made out like a bandit.
Sunday, I high tailed it to Faire. It was a pretty rainy day and everyone was a bit out of energy. I did cheat a bit in that I was well rested even so, I had the right mind set which leads me to WIL.
1. If you are mentally prepared, no amount of inclement weather can bring you down.
2. Even bone tired, my fellow cast members jumped in when asked. Good on them.
3. Rain helps hydrate contacts!
It was a good, short weekend.
This weekend past, the 24th through 25th. What a beautiful weekend! Sun was out, the skies were clear and the temp just about right. I must have done really well on the rainy Sunday because I was given Character of the Day for it. Needless to say, I was pretty floored. I expected another couple of years before I was good enough. The Cast Director said some pretty awesome things. He spoke about this being his first year as a CD and one of his biggest worries was that he would lose talented people. He said when he got an email that this person was coming back, he knew the year was going to be good. At this point I was like "Damn, who is this person, I want to play with them!" He went on to say this person plays psychopath with the best of them and that is when I was like "Noooo". I looked around and there was Capt'n Latimer was looking RIGHT at me. That is when the CD announce my name and I just gawked. It was a grand moment.
Needless to say Saturday was stellar. I wish I could say the same for Sunday. I was given closing line for the improve bit that we do at opening gate. I received some good advice to work my way into the bit to establish myself so it makes sense for the closing line. I saw an opportunity so I grabbed Owen Fisher and out I went. Man, that dude is hard to keep up with. I added my part (Meh, not really good work) and exited. I paid attention to the signals for when the bit is almost over and attempted to jump in. The setting was a little weird and I pretty much screwed up my line (tried to memorize it) which is a shame cause it was a really good line. I do not believe I earned my mug. Live and learn.
1. Keep hydrated. You may feel fresh but your nose needs to stay moist or you get painful nasal infections.
2. Need to work on aggressive bits. They probably work, just need to judge the target better.
3. Being kicked out of a wedding because one of the guests is clueless sucks.
3a. Being kicked out of a wedding is GREAT for the sailor image.
4. Parade just kicks my butt. I am surrounded by talented, attention grabbers. I have to work SO hard, I just want to lie down.
5. Being a right evil bastard for chess fight is just freaking awesome.
5a. I look forward to being a very bad guy and losing a fight, maybe next year.
6. Wrestling was tough. I tried some new tactics and Magnus showed me the error of my ways.
6a. I got to be Magnus's demonstration stand in. I was later told that it was grand fun to watch the moves in slow motion and my resulting facial expressions. Score. :)
Good weekend, lots of room for improvement.
