Social Unrest Hits Home. Again.

Wow, sorry that happened to you! Maybe that Bettie Page mural really is a draw? Or that alleyway just makes it easier to sneak in and out. Anyway, what nerve to come over while you had a house full of guests, no less.

At least it wasn't a couple of lads in tennis whites, asking to borrow some eggs.

You know, I thought maybe it was the mural, but the cops said that the alley next to the house in addition to the almost-always empty mormon parking lot behind us and the noise of the freeway just make it ideal for robbing without anyone noticing. That, of course, sucks, but it's also strange that Brugos has lived there for going on 5 years and he's never had anything like this happen before this year. Hence, I believe my co-workers assertion that social unrest is largely the culprit.

I definitely know better than to let 2 strange white boys into my house.

I don't know if I buy that social unrest theory - Seattle's one of the only major cities in the US which still has an appreciating housing market, after all - but if Bobby Goren's on the case, he'll find the culprits and get them to confess to everything. Good luck!

i remember when our house was burglarized when i was a kid, the cops told my mom that a) make sure all your neighbors know what happened and b) homes with german shepherds living in them dont seem to get robbed as often as the ones with fluffy house cats.

Well, we can definitely tell all our neighbors (and that's a very good idea) but there's not much we can do about the cats.
