Why I Hate Politics

Jul 14, 2005 10:07

Because they make me angry at a vast majority of people. The more I read, the angrier I become at a very undefined portion of the United States. I sit there, seething and fuming, cursing all Republicans to hell and rueing the day they were born ( Read more... )

Thanks. I think it's a bad idea to divide people into "Democrats" or "Republicans" or even "Green". What makes America so great is that we can all have different beliefs, values, and priorities, and still coexist peacefully. We're all PEOPLE, after all.

I used to think it was all the other political ideologies fault, but then i realized what you did. Everyones a fucking dumbass, and politicians are full of shit.

You do not disagree with Republican "core ideology" though, you only disagree with the really extreme right's point of views. You're just so used to the right being a crazy, extreme minority. I hate the west coast...

no I do disagree with a lot of the core ideology, but it IS just that, simply disagree. Don't harbor any personal feelings towards it, dont hate it, or anything like that. Simply disagree with it as the best means to the best possible end. I do, howeverm extremely dislike the extreme right and the extreme left, I just ahve too often looked at the extreme right as the right as a WHOLE, and not the offshoot of insanity that it is.

Yeah fuck trees and clean air. It's dirty towns for Liz!

Don't hit me...

I like the west coast, after getting back from Boston and realizing how clean this city is I really appreciate Portland a lot more.

I hate the environment! What's so bad about global warming? Getting a few degrees warmer would be nice-I'm sick of needing to take a jacket everywhere.

I'm proud to be savagely Independent. Yay for being middle-of-the-road. Republican views suck but do do a lot of Democratic views...I really just can't win.

It sometimes seems to me like in the beginning governments try to help the people, but end up by sucking the money out of them. And politics serve nothing except to further draw apart groups of people, instead of drawing them together. Especially in times of war.

yeah, but how do you govern without politics? And even if you have no Goverment, it will ultimately culminate in less freedom. There needs to be some sort of central regulator to facilitaqte communication, help those who need it, and protect your group or territory. So while politics have their flaws, it seems much more prudent to work to improve on those faults than to eliminate goverment altogether.
(I'm not an idiot, I don't think that you were advocating anarchism, just saying this is pretty much the best we can do)

I think that politics are necessary for a government to exist, but an unfortunate side effect is discord amongst the people. Because people will always be on two opposite sides. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done about it.
