Why do I care so much about what others do?

actions, but things that don't really affect me at all.
I really don't like the fact that I still let those things bother me

Gotcha...I dunno though-isnt that like a part of human nature? Lots of shit bothers me that doesnt affect or have anything to do with me. Like if someone else is doing something I know is wrong-or someone's bein hurt....i dunno all sorts of shtuff.
Maybe it's just cause...you care.

in a sense yes its because I care, but a lot of times I really don't care if they totally fuck up their lives, but im still bothered by their actions.

Because those people are fuckheads.
And because what others do affects themselves as well as other people. Looks like you're just a loving kind of guy.

wrong, if you knew me you'd know that I don't set myself apart from everyone else, and if you read my livejournal you'd see that a main theme of it is originality, or lack there of, in humanity. And I certainly don't see myself as above that.

Next time, leave your name.

I don't understand how this is any sort of response to his question. Consider, if you will, someone doing something that Rory disapproves of completely and would never even think about doing himself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this kind of situation is what he is referring to. If I am right your "answer" is not only off base it doesn't even make sense.

yeah this really had nothing to do with my thinking I'm different from anyone else... It had to do with the fact that even though I may not be affected by a persons actions in regards to doing something I don't approve of, they still bother me.

For me, seeing someone do stupid things and get praised for it just sets me off. It's just annoying to see something that no one else seems to see.

If it's someone I care about the answer is simply because I care about them and watching them do something that could potentially screw up their lives or what not is sad.

That being said it's really not worth our time or energy to worry about people that we don't care about. Focus on what you can change eventually you'll be too busy with that to worry about anyone else.

Oh, and it's also kind of assuring to see our enemies fuck up as well as unsettling to see them get away with something.

Just my input.

yeah but I always end up feeling guilty when they really fuck up.

But yeah I try not to care about what people I dont care about do... But I still care about them enough as human beings to want them to be as succseful as they can be.
