i'm in love with you, and it's crushing my heart.

Over a week I have been here, and I have learned precious little.

I've canvassed the lands, being careful to stay away from the territories I've been told contain great lizards, long dead by most worlds' standards. I've seen the caves, and the oceans, and the great fields of nothing but tall grass.

I've seen the compound from afar. I've watched the comings and goings of this land's inhabitants. I've seen hulking metal airships, and traditional boats, and people, more people than I'd ever imagine to find, living peacefully on some sort of mystical island, something seen only in the best of children's tales.

What I have not seen is a way home.

Who I have not seen is Phedre.

She may not even be here. But I shan't give up hope, not until I have searched the face of every islander that I see, for some recognition of me, of the arms I carry, of the land I call my home.

So I shall sit. Today, I am perched in a tree near the building, like many other days. I've abandoned my cloak, which rests above my head, stretched out over branches to afford me protection from the sun. I hunt, when I need food. I go to the streams, when I need water.

Otherwise, I wait. If Phedre is here, I will find her.

[ obvs. for phedre, finally, but open to all. he's sitting in a tree not far from the compound. ]
