November Island Council Meeting

Dale made sure he had a cup of hot, black coffee in hand before he shut the door behind him, sat down at the table, and tried to get the meeting started.

"Well, it's good to see you all here," he said, pitching his voice just slightly louder than the low rumble inside the room and setting down a small stack of papers on the table in front of himself. "I've taken the liberty of putting together a few things that need to be addressed today just to get us all started on the right track. We addressed some of our most pressing needs during the last term, but there's still plenty more to be done.

"We've had a request for a space allotment for a nursery and day care for the younger members of our community, and of course there's the setting up of the school to consider. We also continue to have a constant fluctuation in the population of the island, and it's been suggested we come up with a welcoming system for new arrivals to ensure they are aware of the nature of the island and what resources are available to them. And of course, with so many new faces on the Council this term, I'm certain that there are a number of new ideas that you're all excited to present.

"But first up, we've had a formal request from Faramir to adjust the terms of his incarceration, which we should discuss. Clarice Starling has once again consented to join us to give us an idea of Faramir's progress so far.

"We've clearly got a lot on the agenda today, so I hope everyone took advantage of the facilities before sitting down."
